At last, our long-awaited athletics auction event came to a bitter-sweet end last weekend. Our PR class has been working on this auction the entire semester. I am glad that we finally got to see all of our hard pay off, but I have to admit-- it is kind of strange that we aren't gluing and re-gluing centerpieces, wrapping christmas tree lights on our light posts, or rushing into Patty's office to get the classroom keys every few minutes. If I had to evaluate how the auction went, here's what I would say...
STRENGTHS: Our Mean In Green team is extremely cohesive. We all have individual talents that complement each other, making our PR Admin team amazing!
WEAKNESSES: Time. With spring break right before the auction, we really had to work overtime towards the end. If I had to do it over, I would probably manage our time differently, striving to get things accomplished sooner.
OPPORTUNITIES: Our class got as chance to show off our creative design and decoration skills. This event truly helped me realize how much time and effort is put into a 4-hour event!
THREATS: The only negative feedback I heard, were things that were out of our control. I heard a few people saying that the food wasn't the best ever and the auction items weren't as good as previous years. Although this wasn't our fault, this could have put a slight damper on people's experience of the event.
I know the auction was a huge success because the guests were ranting and raving about the beautiful decorations and creative set-up. I thought the event was amazing, and I hope everyone attending had an excellent evening!
